Paying a visit to Matsuhisa – Denver for king crab is an experience like no other. The seafood is always fresh and the options are impressive, with many small plate options allowing for a variety of flavors to be enjoyed gracefully.
The atmosphere, food, and presentation here are amazing. Service is impeccable, and the manager even takes time to check in with customers.
The king crab claw was luxurious and fun, though it came with a hefty price tag of $9.50 per bottle (found at King Soopers for $2.50). Our favorite thing on the menu has been the King Crab Tempura and the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, both delicious dishes that come with generous portions.
Other noteworthy dishes include oysters and sea urchin nigiri, scallop New Style Sashimi, miso black cod tempura, and rock lobster tempura – all prepared in understated surroundings by renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa himself!

Ocean Prime is an upscale chain restaurant known for its sophisticated decor, long wine list, and classic steak & seafood menu.
The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic evening with valet parking steps from the door. The service was professional and attentive, with our server offering many different options to create the perfect meal.
The food at Ocean Prime is delectable and fresh. We started with oysters which our server helped us choose, then had a jumbo crab cake for an appetizer. For dinner I had two different kinds of seafood dishes – the crab legs were especially delicious!
Our other appetizers included sushi and steak tartare, while our main courses/sides were lobster bisque (they have the lobster in the bowl then pour the bisque on top table side), wedge salad, scallops, sea bass, jalapeno potatoes, and mushrooms. All of it was flavorful and simply delicious!
For dessert, we ordered their signature crunchy on-the-outside creamy on the inside dish which was amazing!
Prices are reasonable for this level of service and all in all we spent about $250 on starters, an assortment of seafood dishes, drinks, etc. If you're looking for an amazing seafood meal look no further than Ocean Prime!
4. Blue Island Oyster Bar and Seafood
Catering to seafood lovers, Blue Island Oyster Bar and Seafood is a polished restaurant with a raw bar, beer, and craft cocktails. The atmosphere of the place is nautical and inviting. Their lobster rolls are worth every bite while their clam chowder is to die for.
For oyster lovers, there are plenty of options to choose from plus they have Spanish Octopus, Fried Surf Clams, Lobster Rolls, Ahi Tuna Risotto, and more. There are also great drinks that pair well with all the different seafood dishes available as well as bottomless mimosas for $13. Service was a bit slow but overall exceeded expectations with polite bartenders at the bar area and attentive staff throughout the restaurant. All in all Blue Island Oyster Bar & Seafood offers an enjoyable dining experience for anyone looking for quality seafood dishes at reasonable prices!
5. 801 Chophouse
A polished spot for steaks, seafood, and wine, 801 Chophouse offers prime cuts of beef, seafood, and a large wine selection in an elegant, clubby setting.
The food is fresh and cooked to perfection, with generous servings of lump crab in the crab cake and a unique shellfish pan roast that includes king crab, lobster, mussels, and shrimp. There’s also a wide selection of steak cuts available along with tasty side dishes. The drinks are great as well.
The staff at 801 Chophouse is friendly and hospitable to your needs. The service is top-notch from the host to the waiters to the sommelier – all very kind and professional.
There’s also a secret menu item that you can ask about: one pound lobster tail!
Diners can enjoy appetizers like battered lobster tail bites or oysters before moving on to entrees like Dover Sole or Prime Filet served with horseradish glaze.
For dessert, there’s crème brulee or other treats on the menu. It was a fabulous experience from beginning to end – highly recommended!
6. The Kitchen American Bistro
Featuring a chic bistro/bar with a global menu, "The Kitchen American Bistro" offers an elevated experience for seafood lovers.
The atmosphere is clean and classy, perfect for taking your time to enjoy the experience. The customer service was superb and the quickness of getting all of our plates was great.
The menu had many items that looked good to try, including crab-fried rice and black spaghetti. Everything from the flavors to the portions was very good and well-seasoned with a fresh flavor.
We shared several dishes – crab fried rice, broccolini, shrimp cocktail, hushpuppies, and ribeye (cooked to perfection!), plus the delicious toffee pudding for dessert – so much so that we ordered a second helping! Great oysters, shrimp n grits, salmon, and wine list too.
The roasted beet salad and scallops are craftable at this spot in Denver's heart.
Service is thoughtful and friendly but somewhat slow; however, they were very accommodating and accessible when needed. Unique creative mixtures of flavors make this place worth every penny!

8. TK’s Surf And Turf Kitchen
TK’s Surf And Turf Kitchen offers an array of seafood options and is the perfect place for king crab. The crab was fresh, clean, and full of flavor. The signature dish is a huge plate of Crab/Lobster/Sausage/Shrimp and more which was served as pictured- fresh and well seasoned with great portion sizes.
Service was fast and friendly, with the staff being incredibly kind. The restaurant itself was also very clean. They suggested amazing combos at reasonable prices that were packed with flavor.
The Works (Crab, Shrimp, Lobster, Sausage) are worth every cent! All seafood items were perfectly cooked and spicy- it was some of the best seafood anyone has ever had! There are plenty of drinks and dessert options to choose from as well.
The indoor/outdoor seating creates a warm atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meals in comfort. Meals are served hot promptly making it an overall pleasant experience for first-time visitors to TK's Surf And Turf Kitchen.
9. Water Grill
Brimming with seafood options, Water Grill is a sophisticated seafood restaurant that offers an extensive raw bar and a menu updated daily.
With live lobster, king crab, shrimp, and Dungeness crab available at reasonable prices, this high-end seafood veteran has something for everyone. The atmosphere is inviting and the kitchen is spotless. The staff is knowledgeable and prompt and the decor is beautiful.
The Maryland crab was perfectly breaded with that amazing east coast flavor that you would expect from Baltimore's Inner Harbor area. All the side dishes were really good too! We ordered 3.5 lbs of king crab legs for the table which was delicious Alaskan king crab.
We also had an assortment of items from the raw bar, including a couple of apps and entrees such as a crab cake with remoulade and a tiny salad of lightly pickled vegetables as well as ceviche and Cioppino with lots of Dungeness crabs, jumbo shrimp, and fresh fish in shellfish broth.
The price is worth the quality of the seafood at Water Grill; it was incredibly fresh and flavorful! The service is excellent too; food came out quickly at the perfect temperature while our last guest’s order was coursed out appropriately so we weren't overwhelmed at once.
It's a great location near the rail station, baseball stadia um, and hockey arena too! Impeccable service on every level makes this restaurant highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in some delicious seafood fare!

The service at Star Kitchen is fast and friendly, making it possible to get your order quickly and enjoy it soon after. The condiments tray on each table could use some cleaning up but the food itself is always hot and fresh.
Diners can pick their seafood from the aquarium or simply order off the extensive menu (which includes photos of many of the dishes). A standout favorite among diners is the fried crab balls!
